Back on the motor build..........

or, to be more truthful stripping it down again so I can sort out a couple of issues. I need to replace one cam follower post, also want to do the late model Chief oil scraper conversion. Sometimes, the only way forward is a couple of steps back!

Thursday night I picked up my newly made timing pinion puller from Richi Foss's workshop, made to drawings done based on Neil's pinion puller. Pinion off now, ready to split the cases

  1. Have you seen this tool for installing the pinion gear? I don't know who makes it but its sure makes installing safer and easier.

  2. Thanks for the link Charlie, just spent the evening reading through Lars' build thread, great work! Looks like a handy tool, I assume it threads onto the end of the pinion shaft and the nut forces the pinion on. Not sure what the fitting at th etop of the shaft is for. I think Lars might have borrowed it from Moen at IPE.
